Yellow Onion, chopped
1/2 Garlic cloves, peeled and chopped
28 oz can Tomatoes
1 large fresh basil spring
1/4 dried oregano Salt and Pepper
1. Pour tomatoes into a large bowl and crush with a spatula. Or if your not afraid to get a little messy use your hands.
2. In a large skillet (Do not use a pot it makes the difference), over medium heat, heat oil. When its hot add garlic and onions.
3. As soon as it starts sizzling (do not burn), add tomatoes, then add pureed tomatoes. Add oregano, salt and pepper.
4. The add basil, including stem onto the surface as if its a flower. Let the wilt to submerge into the sauce. Simmer sauce for about 10 minutes. Then add meatballs allow to simmer for 8 more minutes. Then serve.
Add more salt or spices as needed for taste
